26 & 2 is a challenging 26 asana (posture) series. Each pose is meant to be performed in the given order and done to the best of one’s ability. You will learn how the poses enhance the mind and how they relax, strengthen, reshape, and heal the body. This 90 minute program is designed to deliver total health through the balancing and strengthening of every system in the body in order to prevent illness, injury and the limiting effects of aging.
This series of postures begins by waking up the body and expanding the lungs through deep breath work that pumps fresh oxygen into the circulatory system. The next few poses work every muscle, ligament and joint in the fingers, arms, shoulders, neck and upper spine. Then the spine is stretched in four directions to realign hunched shoulders, tight chests, and backs. This is followed by balancing postures that combine skills of concentration, patience, determination and self-control. The series continues to work systematically through the body, leaving not one organ, bone, joint, muscle, ligament, tendon, blood vessel, nerve or gland unattended. When your honest, hard work is finished, 100% of the body is optimally functioning. This is called ENERGY!
Body Beats is designed for those who love the 26&2 class, as well as a good beat. This is a Bikram method class which consists of a challenging series of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises, suitable for all ages and all levels of ability. We recommend taking the 26&2 class prior to stepping in to a Body Beats class.
To truly understand the magic of Bikram Yoga, you must experience the life-enhancing benefits for yourself.
Intermediate is a 90 minute class which includes postures from the original 26&2 sequence,
and incorporates a few more. To work on arm balancing, strength and flexibility of hips and shoulders, adding opportunities for growth in your yoga practice.
Power Hour is a 60 minute class designed for the student that has been practicing for a minimum of 3 months, enjoys the heat and humidity of our regular 90 minute class, and loves a good tune.
Yin Yoga is a compliment to our active life-style. Years of movement of your body, working out at the gym or a dedicated yoga practice will make anyone healthier, stronger and more flexible but at some point the muscles will have reached their limit of flexibility. Working directly with Hips and Shoulders as well as other joint areas open up deep, dense and rarely touched areas in the back, hips and joints. Thus allowing an increased flow of energy and flexibility which will allow you to explore new depths in yoga poses, and a deeper range of motion. This deeply relaxing class also holds elements of meditative, healing practice, yet full of intensity and personal challenges, providing an opportunity to intensify your yoga by holding poses to allow for longer, deeper stretching.
Gentle Yoga is an all accessible class designed to meet yoga students “where they are”. The focus is on rejuvenating and healing the body at a well-supported, slower pace. If you are looking for an additional restorative Yin class, this is the class for you. This class is appropriate for students with some limitations.
Using Pilates principles, Inferno Hot Pilates is a challenging, full body, low impact, high intensity workout. It is performed on a yoga mat in a room heated to 95 degrees and 40% humidity. Hot Pilates strengthens muscles and burns fat - all without the pounding of a high impact workout. It is designed for all fitness levels.
Both practice rooms will be open for students to practice on their own, or with others.
Our main room will be heated with meditative background music.
Our secondary(back) room will be room temperature, perfectly suited for Yin or seated meditation.
