I took my first Bikram yoga class in San Carlos, CA in 1996.
I was hooked from the very first class. I found the practice enjoyable and very challenging. I continued to practice through my first pregnancy in 1998. The breathing exercises helped me through both of my high risk pregnancies.
I worked as a textile designer in San Francisco and the surrounding areas for many years. As a busy working mom, I continued to make time for my practice, commuting in the early hours to San Francisco for yoga, then work. The yoga practice has benefitted me tremendously over the years, allowing me to stay calm in stressful situations. Physically I have enjoyed good health as a result.

At the age of 22yrs, I was told by my then arthroscopic surgeon that I would not be able to resume my usual physical activities as a result of a broken patella, with loss of all cartilage in my right knee resulting from a car accident. What I consider one of my “wake up calls”. Through dedication to my yoga practice I was pleasantly surprised to find I had strengthened the muscles around my knee and would no longer need to have knee replacement surgery.

When you hear the instructors say “Lock the knee” embrace it, trust it, do it!
I have received so much from this practice that in Spring of 2006 I decided it was time to give back. I have been teaching Bikram yoga ever since and have found even more joy and passion through the sharing of this amazing yoga practice with others.

  • 26&2
  • This is a Bikram method class which consists of a challenging series of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises, suitable for all ages and all levels of ability. Each posture stretches, strengthens, and prepares specific muscles, ligaments, and joints needed for the next posture. This 90 minute yoga class also stimulates organs, glands, and nerves, moving fresh oxygenated blood to 100% of the body, restoring all systems to a healthy working order. Bikam Choudhury scientifically designed this 90 minute program to deliver total health through the balancing and
    strengthening of every system in the body. To prevent illness and injury, promote weight loss and limit the effects of aging. This series of postures also improves concentration, patience, determination, and self-control to
    increase mental clarity and reduce stress. The 26&2 yoga class is done in a heated room to warm your muscles, prevent injury, allow a deeper workout and cleanse the body by flushing toxins.

  • Working directly with the hips and shoulders, as well as other joint areas, open up deep, dense and rarely touched areas in the back, hips and joints.  Allowing an increased flow of energy and flexibility which will allow you to explore new depths in yoga poses, and a deeper range of motion.  This deeply relaxing class also holds elements of a meditative, healing practice, yet full of intensity and personal challenges, providing an opportunity to intensify your yoga by holding poses to allow for longer, deeper stretching.  (all level class / warm room / 90 min class - set to music)

  • Gentle
  • Gentle Yoga is an all accessible class designed to meet yoga students “where they are”. The focus is on
    rejuvenating and healing the body at a well-supported, slower pace.  If you are looking for an additional restorative Yin class, this is the class for you.  This class is appropriate for students with some limitations.
    (all level class / 80° room / 60 min class)

  • Sunrise Yin
  • Working drectly with the hips and shoulders, as well as other joint areas, open up deep, dense and rarely touched areas in the back, hips and joints.   • POUND
  • POUND is a full-body cardio jam session, combining light resistance with constant simulated drumming.  The workout fuses cardio, pilates, isometric movements, and isometric poses into a 45-minute series...we add the 15 min stretch at the end.
    Burn between 400-900+ calories per hour, strengthen and sculpt infrequently used muscles, and drum your way to a leaner, slimmer physique - all while rocking out to your favorite music!  Through continual upper body motion using our lightly weighted drumsticks, called Ripstix, you'll turn into a calorie-torching drummer, POUNDing off pounds as each song flies by.
