I took my first Bikram yoga class in San Carlos, CA in 1996.
I was hooked from the very first class. I found the practice enjoyable and very challenging. I continued to practice through my first pregnancy in 1998. The breathing exercises helped me through both of my high risk pregnancies.
I worked as a textile designer in San Francisco and the surrounding areas for many years. As a busy working mom, I continued to make time for my practice, commuting in the early hours to San Francisco for yoga, then work. The yoga practice has benefitted me tremendously over the years, allowing me to stay calm in stressful situations. Physically I have enjoyed good health as a result.

At the age of 22yrs, I was told by my then arthroscopic surgeon that I would not be able to resume my usual physical activities as a result of a broken patella, with loss of all cartilage in my right knee resulting from a car accident. What I consider one of my “wake up calls”. Through dedication to my yoga practice I was pleasantly surprised to find I had strengthened the muscles around my knee and would no longer need to have knee replacement surgery.

When you hear the instructors say “Lock the knee” embrace it, trust it, do it!
I have received so much from this practice that in Spring of 2006 I decided it was time to give back. I have been teaching Bikram yoga ever since and have found even more joy and passion through the sharing of this amazing yoga practice with others.

Melissa Domingo

I grew up in northern New Jersey, and moved west when I turned 25. My first stop was Las Vegas, I resided there for 5 years, and this is where I first discovered my yoga practice in 2009. It makes so much sense, being that I worked in the toxic environment of the casino industry. My first organized yoga class experience was the Bikram method. Not too long after I went to Bikrams teacher training in 2010. I decided to quit my full time job as a card dealer and further pursue my yoga career, so I moved to the Northern California area, where being able to teach full time was an option. A few years later I discovered my yin practice, and that took it to another level, I was able to balance my yang lifestyle and practice with a more restorative yin approach. I received my yin certificate in 2015. As I became more and more aware of this balanced lifestyle, this led me to Ayurveda. I am currently enrolled in the California College of Ayurveda. I feel so blessed to have access to all of this knowledge, and I look forward to being able to share, discuss, and teach this information along the way.
I also have created another hobby on the side, which is slowly turning into a small business. I love working with wire and stones/crystals. I turn them into jewelry. Serpent Coils was created just this past year, and I am excited to share that with the public as well.
So if I'm not in the yoga room, you'll probably find me hiking to a spot near a river where I am able to sit alongside and create my jewelry.
Working directly with the hips and shoulders, as well as other joint areas, open up deep, dense and rarely touched areas in the back, hips and joints.  Allowing an increased flow of energy and flexibility which will allow you to explore new depths in yoga poses, and a deeper range of motion.  This deeply relaxing class also holds elements of a meditative, healing practice, yet full of intensity and personal challenges, providing an opportunity to intensify your yoga by holding poses to allow for longer, deeper stretching.  (all level class / warm room / 90 min class - set to music)
